Unfortunately, it has a crack in the backside, see picture at right. You could cover the bottom and sides inside with fabric. Someone removed the stamped place of origin inside the lid too.

This is a beautifully constructed cedar box, but I can't guarantee that's it's a Lane box. There are no markings.
It's solid inside and out, and very very clean inside. This vintage cedar box will be around for a long, long time. Very durable.

Might be a worthwhile investment? Should be. It's an unusual shape with rounded corners and resembles a full size hope chest. Its size is a little different, too. Once cleaned up, it will be a spectacular dark cedar box.

It's not a Lane box, but it's made of cedar and a hardwood.
Interesting box. Rabbited corners. Has feet and a lid knob. The cedar top and sides appear to be painted brown and it needs sanded off to show the beauty. Otherwise it's a fine box and very clean inside.

It may not be a Lane box, but it's beautifully made. 100% cedar throughout.
Has feet, and rabbitted corners, and a horse and carriage silouette on the lid. It has many small scratches but is in good shape otherwise. It's been around for a long, long time, a real antique.
